Itchy Isis

syringe Pictures, Images and Photos
Ever since Little Isis got spayed, about 8 weeks ago, she has been itching and licking her belly and rear end, and having sporadic breakouts.  We've been trying to treat it with a cortisone spray, which was a less-than-fun experience for all involved.
So, yesterday we went to the V-E-T.  She got an allergy shot.  This was after Dr. Butts laughed at her nekkid baboon butt.  Yes, our vet is named Dr. Butts.
Except during the trimming of the claws, she was so well-behaved!  When we got home, she made sure Petey was well taken care of and nicely groomed, then she settled in for about a seven-hour nap!
But the best part, for those of you who have been following Little Isis' life story, from her alley-cat roots to now, is that she has gained some weight!  It took us almost a year and a half to get her up to the 4 pounds the vet's office wanted her to be at for spaying, and in the past two months, she's gained two pounds!  I knew she'd gained some weight, but was very pleased with her.  All that ranch dressing finally paid off!
Now, I just hope she stops itching long enough for some fur to grow back on her butt!

  1. We hope that little Isis gets some good rest and that all of the itchies go away so she can heal up quickly.

  2. Oh, poor little Isis! I hope the shot helps. Harley has had two Depo Medrol injections for his eosinophilic granuloma problem ("rodent ulcers"), but they are back again. We're trying an exclusion diet now in case it is a food allergy, because we don't want him to have another steroid shot if we can help it.
