Remembering Jaz

Thanks to everyone who sent 'Happy Gotcha Day' messages to Jazper yesterday.
It was kind of a tough day for NTM, because he was missing the Jaz Man so much.  Jazper came into our lives as a rescue, and we agreed to foster him, but then of course he became the perfect shop cat at NTM's store in Michigan.
But when it was time for NTM to close the store, Jaz did not want to become part of The Purries at home with the rest of us.  It was quite a stressful situation for all of us involved.  Finally, with a broken heart but knowing it was the right thing to do, NTM found a new Forever Home for Jazper.  He now is a wonderfully pampered Only Cat, and we still hear from his new mom occasionally with updates.  That doesn't mean NTM and iDaddy don't miss him every single day.  They do.  It's been two years now since Jaz went to live with his new mom, but they still miss him.
The Gotcha Day posted yesterday in the Cat Blogosphere was to remember the day that Jaz got off that plane from Rhode Island and joined us in Michigan.  He was such an integral part of The Wren's Nest, and made that experience so rich. We will never forget him, but know that he is loving being an Only Cat.
Live well, Jaz.  We will always love you.

  1. A good life to the little one. He is definitely a handsome guy, that one.

I know the feeling of not being able to keep one so treasured as Jazper. We do what we can, then we have to do what's best for the little one.

    Thanks for the story.

Have a good rest of the weekend, and come see us when you can.

    Later .....

  4. Thanks for the Jazper update. It's awesome his new family still gives you updates, we know how important that is. When we rehomed our rescue "Frankie", even though he was only with us a short time we still became attached. Mom adores that she gets periodic updates and photos from his new mom...and now he has a new brother, a house panther, that was a rescue from a local rescue group. Now that just makes me purr.

We will toast a nip toast to our furriend Jazper.

  9. What a wonderful tribute to Jaz. It's hard when they don't all get along but you have to honor their personalities--I have a friend going through much the same thing. I'll be sending her over here.

  11. A belated Happy Gotcha Day to Jazper! A cat being happy and loved is the best situation. I prefer to be only cat, too, and that woman has promised that I will be with her.
