Pete is Home Again

Back from our follow up visit with Dr Jackie.
His temperature was NORMAL! What a relief.
Still no diagnosis as to what caused the fever - we're waiting for the more extensive blood test results to come back. But the specialist who examined his X-rays said everything looks normal.
So, he got his IV line out and some Rx appetite-stimulating food and was sent HOME.
Once we got back, I was able to entice him to eat about a dozen Friskies Party Mix Cheese Flavor treats. Dr Jackie wasn't thrilled that he's only eaten treats recently, but conceded it was better than nothing. After he settles back in from the car ride, we'll see if he will eat some of the Rx food.
He's now trying to get the petroleum jelly off his temperature-checking-orifice, and as for me - I think I need a nap.
THANK YOU to everyone for their comments, thoughts, purrs, and prayers. Our whole family greatly appreciates all of them!

  12. So happy he's feeling better, Mo. Hope he gets to eating soon. Fever of unknown origin in cats is quite common, so Pete's case is not unusual.

  15. Ah, yez, the infamous Fever of Unknown Origin. (Which sounds better than Beats The Heck Out Of Me)

Pete, you can milk it a little more, but pretty soon you're gonna have to start eating normal kittie food again. Deal with it.

  16. Weze am soo glad dats Pete am home!

Katie Too and alla Da Katz Gang.

    FYI
Spunky Boo Bear had an unknown temp and the doc gave him antibiotics anyway.
At the time, we suspected it might be his teeth because of the way he tried to eat, but let the food fall out of his mouth, but his high fever and lethargy were the only two symptoms for sure.

Later he had to have some teeth removed. - the mom.
