Daphne's Annual Checkup

Daphne went for her annual checkup yesterday.  She got to meet Dr. Jackie, our wonderful regular vet, but she wasn't too thrilled about it.  In fact, she absolutely despises the carrier and I felt miserable for having to go.
Daphne's been very depressed since Chloe left us, and not eating as well as previously - she seems to be gingerly eating the kibble.  So she went to the vet today for an annual checkup and vaccines, and to have Dr. Jackie look at her mouth.  We got good news - everything looks ok, and she seems to be at optimal weight and condition for a cat her size and age.  This was a relief, let me tell you.  Plus, Dr. Jackie had not been there when I'd brought in Chloe, so I was able to talk with her about that.  But let me tell you, Daphne sure was glad to be home today!  And I was sure glad to have her home!

  5. We're sure that Daphne still is having the sads, you know how hard it's been. Mom says if you think of it to rub some flower drops on your hands before you pet her, it may help her get through this a little easier.

  8. Mo, animals do mourn when their friends leave for the bridge. I am glad you took her to the vet though. So glad to hear that she is all right. She will probably go back to eating after a week or two.
    Take care.
