So Thankful

Hello all,
Not The Mama here.
Just a quick note to say how thankful I am to have my 3 kids in my life.
Yesterday wasn't the best day ever, and yet the small bit of the day I was able to spend with just the 3 kitties was the best part of the holiday.
I laid down on the bed, face-down with my left arm around the Spooker. Within a few seconds, Chloe popped up on my back and settled in, purring between my shoulder blades. Daphne joined us, and curled up against my right side, with her chin resting on my right wrist, her lawnmower purrs making the whole bed vibrate. I had a small time of bliss with them....

This morning, when I woke up, Chloe was on my chest, Daphne slumbered draped over my ankles (how she can sleep like that I don't know, but she was snoring away) and Spooker was pressed up against the small of my back. I just wanted to stay in bed all day with them.

The picture above was taken after I was gotten up from my nap yesterday. Chloe, who had been on my back for the nap, was entwined around my ankles as I took this pic of Daphne & Spooker -- who were wondering what was up with all the noise Lee was making in the dining room. The bit of calico floral fabric that Spooker is curled up with is a microwaveable heat pad that Lee's mom made for me, years ago. Just 90 seconds in the microwave, and it stays warm for a long time. Since the guest room is quite cool, Spooker appreciated the extra bit of warmth for her old bones.

Even as the rest of my life goes down the toilet, my 3 kids make me want to keep on going.
I am so very thankful that they are in my life.
