Another of my Lincoln Park Zoo pictures, this one of the cathouse. I love architectural details, and I thought it was fun how they had images of great cats on either side in the brickwork.
Growing up, my grandfather was on the board of the Cleveland Zoo for a while, and he was instrumental in getting them a new cathouse in the 1980's. In the room I stayed at when visiting them, there was a sign above his desk that said "Support Your Local Cathouse" - it wasn't until years later that I came to know there was a double-meaning to that phrase!
Enjoy today's cathouse!

I didn't see the inlay until I read your words. Very wonderful. My Own used to visit the Cleveland Zoo back when she lived in Avon. Her favorite part was monkey island.
ReplyDeleteCool picture of the zoo cathouse! Also love the pics of your kitties in the sidebar, very artsy -- and of course the kitties are lovely and handsome! ;)
ReplyDeletePixie will be by the House Panthers in the next couple of days to say hi to everyone!

Cool shot!

That is some old building. I'm guessing the cats that reside at the zoo have roomier accommodations these days.
ReplyDeleteI love brick buildings. I think they have a lot of character.
ReplyDeleteI love brick too!
ReplyDeleteI.m with you on the cats on the arch who are beckoning you to step in - if you dare! This beautiful pagoda styled arch is just beautiful. Brick may be a mundane building material, but when styled like this, a true work of art...
ReplyDeleteNicely done in sepia!
ReplyDeleteBTW - I have a calico cat named Chloe, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture for sepia. All the textures of the building stand out and bring charactor to it.

I like the texture of this. well done. wonder what the kitty litter bill is here. :)
ReplyDeleteThis nice and bold, and I understand now, you love cats!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at that big wide entrance when I read "Cathouse" until I realized what you meant! HA! Happy Sepia Scenes, Mo! :)
