Nine years ago today, Bessie and I found a half-starved, flea-ridden little black imp in the alley behind the building where I lived in Michigan.

Boo!

Bessie named her Isis and frankly, I thought that Bessie was going to be the one to adopt her. But she stayed with me, and now I can't imagine life without this opinionated, intelligent, independent, finicky feline.
But nine years? Where did the time go? Little Isis is still the size of a half-grown housecat, yet what she lacks in body size she makes up for in cunning brain power!

One of the best parts of having Little Isis in my life is the special relationship she has with Eyad, who The Purries call iDaddy. She and her iDaddy have a special bond, and she loves her SMACKIES from him! The two of them can do SMACKIES for hours, and Isis just purrs and purrs.
She comes to me to have her head scratches, but she loves her some SMACKIES from her iDaddy.

To celebrate her Gotcha Day, Isis is getting extra treats.
But unlike the rest of The Purries, she doesn't care for Temptations.
She wants only Friskies Beachside Crunch, which she calls BLUE BAG ONLY.

Hello! It's my purrthday today! Can you believe I'm eight years old?
Still have the body of a six month old minx, though - there's something to be said about being LITTLE!
For those of you who don't know all about me, you can read more on my biography page here on the blog. And don't forget, you can always follow me on my Facebook page, too! I have to admit, my Dad updates my Facebook much more than he does our blog, anymore. Silly humans.

Little Isis.

Over the years, our beloved Pete was the one gracing our St. Patrick's Day post. So we thought it only fitting that our sweet PJ follow in his footsteps and get all gussied up for a bit o' the luck o' the Irish.

And Little Isis, below, also thought she'd get into the act, chasing leprechauns.

No one should be alone on Christmas Eve, and the Hotties of Hot(M)BC have been hosting their annual gathering online for several years now. They have mainly gone to having a Twitter party, but there are many of us who are more comfortable in a group chat room. So there will still be a Chatzy room this year! Along with being fun, this is also a fund raiser for Black Cat Rescue.
Our own Little Isis will be hosting the Catmas Eve party's Chatzy Room from 6pm EST to midnight tonight.

My iDaddy left yesterday, for a long time.

No more good SMACKIES for me, for a long time.

But he will always be in my heart, for a long time.

Our iDaddy leaves today to go back to University in London, UK.

We cannot tell you how much we're going to miss him. He lights up our lives, and fills our hearts with love and laughter. He gives us treats and spoils us rotten (we love it when he slips us a secret treat and says "Don't Tell Boss.")

Here he is holding Sonora and PJ, when their adoptions were finalized and they were permanent members of our purry gang.

We know this is the best thing for our iDaddy - to get the very best education he can, and have it paid for by scholarship. But we just wish it wasn't so so so far away. He'll always be close in our hearts, and we can Facetime with him regularly, but we want him HOME with us, curled up on the couch snuggling with us! We love you, iDaddy, always!
Today is also Little Isis's GOTCHA DAY. She loves her iDaddy so much, and this will be really hard for her, but we will all be strong for her!
