It is with sad hearts that Eyad and I share the news of our beloved Spooker's passing this evening. I was able to be with her, holding her, as she passed. I had her since she was a tiny kitten who fit into the palm of my hand, and she would have been 20 this Mother's Day. She had a good long life, and we're thankful she went on her own terms, peacefully at home, being told she was loved.
We will always miss you, Spooker.
I am so very sorry Spooker is gone. At least you gave her the gift of leaving on her own terms. Purrs to you and all your feline familiy.

ReplyDeleteGodspeed, Spooker.

ReplyDelete..... and St Francis said, "Come little one,
ReplyDeletethere is nothing more I can do for
you here, don't be afraid"......
and St Francis gently picked up Spooker and
carried her into the kingdom of heaven.....
when the little cat looked around, she realized
everything St Francis told her on her journey
was true....heaven was beautiful beyond what
mere words could express.....
...... and Spooker saw there was no pain, suffering,
fear, sickness, hunger, thirst or sorrow, until
she looked down and saw the family and friends
she had left behind. ......and for a very brief moment,
the little cat too, was filled with sorrow.
Then St Francis bestowed Spooker with a set of
gossamer wings and said, "Use them to return to
your family, when their need is the greatest,
as nothing can separate your bond of love. Hold
each other in your hearts and your memories,
until you are reunited again at heaven's door."
and when the little cat tried on her wings, she
knew nothing was impossible...... when there is
....love
God's speed to you Spooker
with love from Boomer, Dai$y, Tuna.....
and Dude and Sauce too...
you are and always will be
a beautiful girl xxxxxxx
This is awsome
DeleteThere are no words that will comfort your aching heart, there will just be a Spooker sized hole there for all time, that will be healed over with the passage of time little by little. How blessed that you were to have Spooker for nearly 20 years. How blessed Spooker was to be with you for those nearly 20 years. But 20 years is not enough, and no time how little or long would be. Only know that the love you shared is what matters and as you long as you hold it in your heart it will always sustain you. I am so very sorry for your loss and I will light my candles tonight as I do every night for my Abby & Grace and say a prayer for Spooker too. A new angel has her wings.

My sincere condolences over the huge loss of your precious Spooker...I had a cat for almost 20 years that died in my arms as well (Nikki, 1984-2004) and I felt so blessed that she shared that final moment of her life with me...I know Spooker was comforted to have you guys with her at the end and I hope that gives you both some peace...LOVE never dies and that bond will never be broken...Wishing you both love and comfort at this sad time...Big hugs...J

I just read about Spooker's passing. I haven't been on the cat Blogosphere site for a few days and missed the news. I am sorry about her death, but it doesn't sound like anyone need be sorry for her life: it was obviously good. Twenty years old is good, but to be surrounded by love is better. Godspeed, Spooker.
ReplyDeleteI remember when My dearest Spunky Bear went home. He was in my arms when he had a stroke. I knew it was time for him to go. But stubborn boy held on.. He was so bonded to me. I held him up and prayed, dear Lord, I release my boy into your loving arms. Only then did my almost 20 year old go home. He was my all for so long. I taught him how to speak and he taught me so much. He used to call me, 'Atrin. He counted his licks on my arm in sets of threes... Purring fur you and Spooker. She is waiting fur you.... =^..^=
