One of the florists from the flower shop around the corner comes into the store and says, "Look what I have for you!"
Their front door was open today so their shop cat, Boo Kitty, can sit on the sidewalk in front of their store when he wants. And in walks a little tiger tabby kitten.
Boo Kitty freaked out.
So, of course, they brought him to me.
He is well fed, certainly NOT starving. No visible fleas or ear mites. Obviously well taken care-of.
How did he end up walking into a store by himself? I don't know.
All I know is now he is PURRING on my shoulder, a little love lump.
When I set him down for a minute so I could go potty, he cried and cried until I picked him back up.
Bessie is on her way to pick me up, to take me to us to the vet. I can't allow him around anyone til I get him FEV tested.
But OH what a cutie patootie!
It's been just a little over a year since Ubee went to the Rainbow Bridge, and now fate brings me this little dude. Will get a picture later, the camera isn't with me at work today. Will keep you informed on developments.
Update 3:30pm Just back from the vet's. Little Sir Percival Fostorius (we'll call him Percy because he purrs so much!) is one healthy bugger. The vet said that he was surprised there were no wormies, but that's a good thing, and no fleas or ear mites either. And negative for FIV and leukemia.
He's about 4 months old, and a charmer - hence the charming name of Sir Percival. He purred the whole time at the vet's except for when his blood was drawn, and was amazingly well-behaved in the carrier.
He's now sitting on the back of my chair, purring away.
I just read about sweet Felix going to the bridge today. In honor of Felix, we're going to make that Percy's middle name. Welcome to the Cat Blogosphere, Sir Percival Felix Fostorius.
More updates (and some pictures!) later.

SQUEEEEEEE! Can't wait to see pictures! Is the baby an extra-fluffy, like sweet Ubee? Of course you'll have to put up the "found kitten" posters and wait. In the meantime you'll fall in love, and the rest is history. Except where he's going to live - upstairs or down? Well, even if his family does come to claim him, at least you've got some purrty kitten lovin' for a while - excellent!

Um, I think maybe the little guy was just going into the florest to buy some Baby's Breath for lunch. Yum! Have you ever tried that stuff? It's great!
Grr & Midnight, flower eaters
Gosh, it's been a year already since Ubee? Time flies.
ReplyDeleteHope this little one finds a home quickly!

pee ess: May Ubee and Felix sent Sir Percy???
Oh I cannot wait to see this new little love lump!!! Percy sounds delightful :) It is sweet that you also called him Felix for his middle name.
ReplyDeleteWe are purring for Felix and his family. We remember Ubee.
We welcome this new kitty. The circle of life.
Purrs Mickey
That's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAnd the mention of Ubee has me off in search of that adorable photo of him hiding in your desk shelves. I think that's my favorite photo of any kitty picture I've ever seen.
Momma has read about people who can talk to kitties and they says that they come backs to be with their families again. Did the Vet say how old he was?
ReplyDeleteHe sure sounds like a charmer, coz purrs always works on the mommas! :)

Oh, how wonderful to read such an uplifting story this week. Mo, we think Ubee sent Percy to you! He sounds adorable. We are going to keep reading and see his pictures next. We haven't felt like blogging at all this week, but had to stop by and say: WELCOME PERCY!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh!!! He is way too adorfable!
ReplyDeleteLuf, Us
Never a dull moment, huh? :)
ReplyDeleteWow.
You realize this makes SIX, right? :)
Keep us updated.
Concatulations, Not the Mama: It's a BOY! Yay! An' you gave him a furry good name. Mom loves the name Percy (we had a Feline American named Percy for seventeen years).
ReplyDeleteWe all hope that you'll be wonderfully happy! It was meant to be.

I think Janna was offering to give him a forever home.
ReplyDeleteI would but Andy's allergic. That's how come we ended up dog people. I'd tell him to just get over it but it's hard to say that to your sweety when his eyes are swelled shut.
He's sure adorable. Just when Daphne was getting tired of being the cuddle kitty too.
