It is way to stressful for me and the other cats, because of this, to consider keeping him. It would not be fair to any of us. He needs to be in a home where he can have lots and lots of attention, and frankly with all the Purries, sometimes I seem stretched a bit thin in the attention-giving department.
So, today, on the first day of my Store Closing Sale, even before I get a "Certified Used Cat" flyer ready for him, in walks a former business owner of another shop downtown, and an aquaintance of mine. After talking, I knew that this would be the person who could give him a Forever Home. Even before I said that I had to think about finding a home for him, she offered to adopt him.
She's coming back tomorrow to spend some time with him, and to talk with me about the details - like WHEN she would take him, but it sounds like it will be a good match.
It will break my heart to let him go, but I also know in my heart it will be the best thing for him -- for all of us -- in the long run.
I'll keep you updated,
NTM
does she seem like a good match? if so, concatulations!!!!! yay, this is wonderful to hear. forever home!!! i hope all works out and the match is a good one and she is a good mommy and gives alot of attentions!
ReplyDeleteoh Uncle Mo! We knows that it's hard, but it's best for efurryone, moreso Jazper, if he's in a 'vironment where he doesn't feel like he has to attack efurryone . We knows that he will get a wonderful forefur home. purrrrsssss to you Uncle Mo - rescuer and protektor of kitties!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm crossing my paws for everything to work out.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a new home so easily is a gift. I hope it all works out, and if its an acquaintance, maybe you can still visit, Jaz. Big hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh Mo! We know this isn't easy for you...but you got to do what's best for Jasper and the other kitties. It sounds like this may work out well for everybody! And maybe you'll still be able to visit Jasper!
ReplyDeleteI really hope this works out!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, it didn't even occur to me how closing the shop would affect Jazper. It sounds like the perfect solution!
ReplyDeleteWe're sorry you're sad, NTM. It would be hard letting home go, but he'll be close enough to visit a lot, won't he?
ReplyDeleteCharlemagne and Tamar
Oh, NTM, I'm sorry you have to find a new home for Jaz on top of everything else, but I hope this new home works out for him. That will at least one thing that will be settled in your heart.
ReplyDeleteWhat timing... I really hope everything works out! It's hard, I'm sure, but it's also good of you to think of what's best for Jazper too.
ReplyDeleteI Hope this works out for all. I remember when he joined your merry band of kitties.

I'm sorry Mo. But at least you know he'll be in a good place.
ReplyDeleteNTM, we are so sad that Jazper has to leave your family, but we are purring that the new home will work out for him and his new guardian. Will you be able to visit him?
ReplyDelete'Kaika and the Yosemite cats
As long as you know in your heart he will have a good home. That's the most important part - a permanent, loving home.
ReplyDeleteHanding him over to loving arms will ease your pain. Doggone it. This is one reason I never considered being a foster mom to human kids. I couldn't let go! Your friend is indeed a God-send...
ReplyDelete~~~Blessings~~~
Uncle Mo, We're sorry that Jaz has to find a new home, but it sounds like things might work out with your friend. Purrs to you and Jaz and the rest of the Purries,

Hugs, Mo!
ReplyDeleteSad and pleased in the same breath. Sad to be missing Jasper, pleased that he will be loved and cared for...
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing is he gets to still be a Shoppe Cat, right?
ReplyDeleteI guess this is definitely one of those situations where the term "bittersweet" really comes into play.
Sending a big cyber-hug your way, my friend.
We hope the best fer Jazper! Changing homes can be difficult, but this sounds like it might be fer the best...
ReplyDeletePurrs to all.
We can just imagine how you feel. Shrek and Sheba have not been getting on the last few months and their spitting and growling can get stressful! but our hearts will break tolet go of either of them! It's great that you have found someone who will love Jasper!

Hoping that this works out!

Oh goodness! We sure hope that all works out well with the other store owner and Jazper! We know how much you will miss him, and he will miss you too! Many hugs and purrs!

I truly sympathize with your mixed emotions - happy for him and yet knowing you will miss him. I took in a 10 year old cat for some people a year ago - she never did adjust to my 2 cats although she got along fine with my 2 dogs. She spent most of her time in our bedroom and never came out and my 2 cats didn't dare enter. Thankfully circumstances changed for the family she grew up with and they were able to take her back home last month. I got very attached to my Angel while she was here, but I know in my heart she is happier back in her old home and prowling all through the house without fear of running into another dreaded cat. I hope this adoption works out and he will have a happy life.
ReplyDeleteSad, but a pawsible happy ending. Sometimes we try as hard as we can, but it can't always work as we like. You tried, but at least he's got another great chance at some purr happiness. Yeah! :o)

Your story has "meant to be" written all over it. We wish you the best!
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard from you in a while, hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't heard of you for a while and are also wondering if everything is OK. We know you're having a hard time with the business closing etc ~ and rehoming Jazper.
ReplyDeleteTake care, your friends in the blogging world are thinking about you.
Milo and alfie and our Mom
I hope everything works out. We just had to re-home one of our cats. I'm finding the house way too quiet without him but I know he went to a better home.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't you keep the store?
ReplyDeleteHard times are hitting everyone and it is such a shame. Too bad the stimulus did not help small businesses very much, ours also went bust. We are kind of angry becasue it seems that the $$ went to big donors of the DNC.
I hope you are well. I hope life is keeping you happy. Have faith
purrs always, Princess
Thanks for the purrthday wishes, Uncle Mo, and all you cute little purries!
